Product development generally moves a lot faster today, and research and development is required for SSAB to be able to offer customers stronger, more sophisticated steel. The drop hammer is a way to study how steel behaves under actual load.
SSAB has received funding approaching EUR 2 million for product and process development from Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation. The funding will be used to develop automotive steels and steels suitable for Arctic conditions.
SSAB has signed a joint statement together with the other members of the initiative Swedish Leadership for Sustainable Development. We want to state clearly that we are responsible for interdependencies between land and sea in our core operations.
